The penalty kill looked solid in that first period, and the defense also looked good with 11 hits and 6 blocked shots. But again, you need goals to win games, and keeping the puck in the offensive zone will be key to setting up the third period. The Capitals have be notorious for falling apart at the end of games, and part of that is stamina. Having a well-rested defense headed into the final 20 minutes will be a large factor in who comes out with 2 points.
