Moves are being made as the Washington Redskins have moved further along in the signing process of their draft picks. Earlier today they signed top pick Trent Murphy to a four year rookie deal.

The Redskins drafted Murphy to add more depth at what is already a very strong position at outside linebacker. Murphy will provide comfort and relief behind former top picks Ryan Kerrigan and Brian Orakpo.
Murphy led the entire FBS last season with 15 sacks in his senior season at Stanford. He also provides leadership qualities and discipline in a locker room that can’t get enough of it, having spent time at Stanford as a team captain. Moreover, his 6’5, 255 lb frame make him a very promising pick at a skill position where size and strength pay dividends.
Murphy was the team’s first pick in the draft, taken in the second round at no. 47 overall. With Murphy under wraps, the only pick left to sign is third rounder offensive tackle Morgan Moses.
