Washington Wizards/John Wall Top Kyrie Irving/Cavaliers

The topic of great debate between John Wall and Kyrie Irving was one of much discussion since Irving’s selection in 2011. Although Irving has won awards such as NBA All-Star MVP, Wall remains the popular choice as to being a franchise point guard. Wall continued to get the best of Irving as the Washington Wizards topped the Cleveland Cavaliers 96-83.

The Wiz played an extremely efficient game turning a six-point halftime lead into a 13-point win. Wall led all scorers with 21 points and nine assists as Irving struggled to get his world renowned scoring going shooting a mediocre 6 of 17 from the field. Bradley Beal, Trevor Ariza, and Marcin Gortat all scored in double figures as Washington continued to receive steady contributions from the rest of the role players,
The Wizards are now 3-1 since the All-Star and continue to improve their level of play as the push toward the playoffs comes into fire? Washington will now turn their attention to a home matchup with the cellar dwellers in the Southeastern division on Tuesday night. The Zards will be heavy favorites in 5 of the next 6 games and must utilize the weak schedule to boost their record and current fifth seed.
