Georgetown hoops selected to finish second

For the Georgetown Hoyas, the 2013-14 campaign is one of redemption. After an early exit and gigantic upset loss to Florida Golf Coast in the first round of the 2013 NCAA Tournament, Georgetown hopes to avenge last season’s demons with a deep run into March. The season, however, begins with early projections, and it appears many around the BIG East Conference believe Georgetown is poised for their run. The Hoyas were selected to finish second in the conference behind only the Marquette Golden Eagles.

Along with the team projections, Senior point guard Markel Starks was chosen as a member of the preseason first team ALL-Big East. Starks, a senior captain, average 12.8 points and 3.0 assists per game last season, and was a major catalyst for the number two seeded Hoyas. Georgetown’s preseason has now gotten under way, and they will open up their season against the Ducks of Oregon, November 8th, in South Korea.
