Maryland Baseball Sports Mismatch Camo Uniforms Against NC State

Curious holiday style choices are generally saved for Christmas in the form of sweaters, but the Terrapins baseball team is sporting a unique jersey combination this afternoon in their Easter matchup against NC State. Take a look.

The jersey consists of the red hat with the white highlight, white pants with a red stripe and then a completely out-of-place camouflage jersey to top it off. While the jerseys themselves would make the San Diego Padres proud, they may be slightly out of place with today’s hat/pants combination.

Maryland currently trails the Wolfpack 4-2 as they bat in the top of the second inning. The Terps claimed the early 1-run lead in the top of the first, but saw their lead turn into a three-run deficit after several defensive miscues. Third baseman K.J. Hockaday allowed two playable balls to reach the outfield, and pitcher Alex Robinson needed 26 pitches to get out of the inning. NC State has now scored nine first-inning runs against Maryland in this series.

The Terps got back within two after a bloop single by Matt Bosse off the glove of Wolfpack first baseman Jake Armstrong allowed Blake Schmidt to score from second base.

Maryland has several rested arms in the bullpen this afternoon, so expect Robinson to have a very short leash.
