Grant Paulsen of 106.7 TheFan reports that the Redskins’ best offer to Lorenzo Alexander was for three years and $7.5-million. The offer fell $2-million short of the 3-year, $9.5-million deal that Alexander signed with the Arizona Cardinals this afternoon.
Paulsen also reports that Alexander was “considering the Redskins offer” as recently as Monday, however the club fell out of favor with Alexander after lowering the guaranteed value of the deal from $3.6-million to $2.4-million.
Alexander joins fellow dynamic special teams player Josh Cribbs in Arizona’s Tuesday haul, however both the Cardinals and Redskins watched this afternoon as mutual target Reggie Bush inked a four-year deal with the Lions this afternoon.
