Grant Paulsen of 106.7 TheFan reports that cornerback Derek Cox has agreed to a four-year contract with the San Diego Chargers. Paulsen also reports that the Redskins were believed to be interested in Cox as they look to solidify their defensive backfield, meaning another option is now off the board.
Depending on how deep their wish list goes, the Redskins may now decide to go all-in on target Aqib Talib, a move that could potentially be detrimental to their hopes of signing any other free agents this offseason. The bidding is reportedly getting high as the Colts, Patriots, Redskins, and potentially other teams continue to vie for his services.
Plenty of options are out there, and the Redskins need to make sure they don’t put all their eggs in one basket. For more on why the Redskins should move on from Talib, click here.
