Just went things appeared to be going the right direction for the Washington Wizards something always goes wrong.  In this next chapter of the Wizards 2013-14 season, Nene will miss 4-6 six weeks after spraining the MCL ligament in his troublesome left knee.  Nene was coming off of a career high 30 points against the and will now miss a large amount of games.  Over Nene’s tenure with the Wizards, Washington is 60-61 with him in the lineup, and 8-34 without him playing.  The Wiz cannot allow losing Nene to ruin a once promising season, and the rest of the supporting cast must pick up the slack.

With all the bad news, there have been some positives as Nene’s injury appeared far worse then diagnosed.  Although Nene was not contacted during the play, his reaction strongly resembled a serious knee injury.  Since the injury, Nene had been walking exclusively with crutches and many thought he was lost for the year.

In his two and half years with the Wizards, Nene has missed a plethora of games, and most recently returned from Plantar Fasciitis.  Now, it has been rumored the Wizards are pursing Drew Gooden as potential replacement.  Gooden would most likely sign to a 10-day contract and after the contract expires may be resigned depending on his play.
