With a 3-12 record and a guaranteed last place finish within the division, the Washington Redskins do not have much to play for when they enter the meadowlands against the New York Giants. For the Redskins players, however, it will be the last audition for management, and in such a disappointing season, change will occur in the off-season.
Offense: This will be the last chance for the Redskins’ Kirk Cousins to prove he’s ready to become an NFL quarterback. His three-game audition may prove extremely valuable to team’s around the league and provide them a chance to evaluate the second-year player. In the off-season, I expect Washington to deal Cousins for a potential high round pick, and today is an important part of the plan. Expect the Redskins to run a very similar offense to the past few weeks, relying heavily upon running back Alfred Morris.
Defense: Redskins fans think they’ve had a terrible season, but just look across the sideline at Eli Manning. Manning has had a career high in interceptions and has performed horribly for the Giants. I fully anticipate Manning continuing his poor trend and throwing multiple interceptions to the Redskins secondary.
Bottom Line: The Redskins will play for pride in London Fletcher’s final game. Washington will earn their fourth victory and first within the division. Prediction: 27-21 Redskins
