The last time the Maryland Terrapins participated in post-season football, they played in the Military Bowl.  Three years later, and not much has changed, as head coach Randy Edsall will take the Terrapins back to the Military bowl, where they will square off against the Marshall Thundering Herd.

The Thundering Herd rode a five-game winning streak into the C-USA Championship game where they fell at the hands of the Rice Owls.  The appearance for Maryland was much anticipated, as the game will be played in the friendly confines of Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.  Also, several of the contest’s festivities will take place in Washington DC, which is even closer to the University.

The matchup will pit the high-octane offense of the Thundering Herd against a rather beat up Maryland team that has found its own in recent weeks.  Oddly enough, both teams have produced similar results against common opponents as Maryland topped Virginia Tech 29-26 in overtime while Marshall lost to the Hokies 29-21 in three overtimes.  Also, Maryland defeated Florida International 41-10 as Marshall won 48-10.
