Washington Wizards crushed by Pacers

The Washington Wizards came into Friday night’s matchup riding a 3 game winning streak and headed into Indianapolis to take on the Pacers with momentum on their side.  Indiana, however, was too much to handle for Washington, who was playing without power forward Nene.  Nene missed the contest due to a foot issue that has linger throughout the first month of the season.

Indiana controlled the tempo early and doubled up the Wizards 28-14 after the first quarter.  The Pacers would never relinquish this lead as Paul George, Roy Hibbert, and George Hill all had big games topping the Wizards, 93-73.  Washington didn’t receive much offensive firepower as 17 turnovers doomed the Wizards.  Although Marcin Gortat scored 17 points, John Wall among others weren’t hitting their shots as Washington made just 40.3 percent of their shots for the game.

Washington will now travel back to the friendly confines of the Verizon Center as the Wizards will square off Tonight with the Atlanta Hawks.
