Chad Tracy is in the starting lineup at first base for the second straight day as regular starter Adam LaRoche continues to rest a sore back. Tracy will slide right into LaRoche’s regular spot in the lineup, batting fifth ahead of Ian Desmond and Danny Espinosa.

While LaRoche said his back is feeling “much better,” the day off will give him three full days to rest including tomorrow’s off-day before the Nationals host the Chicago White Sox at Nationals Park on Tuesday. The injury doesn’t appear to be serious, though we will continue to monitor LaRoche’s progress as Tuesday afternoon gets closer.
